Wall installations with plastic beads, melted together | format each: 56 x 56 cm

The work serie Orphans is part of the work cycle HOME, dealing with the (inner) images and desires connected to the motif of the home and the family in societies.
The work Orphans is based on an official adoption website from the USA, aiming to find new parents for orphans with psychological, mental and/or physical problems. A search enging allowed to define the wished parameters like age, sex, race in order to find the ideal child for adoptation. For each child there was a page with an image and a description.
The work Orphans comes in the classical square portrait format. All individual images have been in that way unified in order to signalize that they are connected with each other. Instead of a photographic representation I used a material called melting beads – usually used and sold as a craft material for children.
